Abstract
A lot of silver-cadmium oxide system contact materials are widly used as electrical contacts such as breaker for distribution(MCCB) and electromagnetic switches(MS),because cadmium oxide (CdO) has good properties. However, Cadmium (Cd) might be harmful. We know this material causes environmental problems in the future. ISO14000 also requires this problem to be solved. Then, it is necessary to develop new cadmium-free silver-oxide system contact materials.
Now, we have developed the new contact "CL-8", which is cadmium-free silver-oxide system.
This "CL-8" shows good properties and performances. It will solve above environmental problems.
