Twin-screw extruders, which are used in the production of high-performance plastics, experience serious wear owing to the addition of hard fillers and flame retardants. Following the launch of MZ01, which exhibits acceptable corrosion and wear resistance, in 2020, the need for a similar material with even better corrosion resistance arose. In this study, we developed such a material, hereafter referred to as MZⅡ, through the optimization of alloy composition. Compared with MZ01, MZⅡ demonstrates several times greater corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid and approximately 50 times greater corrosion resistance in phosphoric acid. Thus, MZⅡ can extend the lifespan of components used in compound production.

高機能プラスチックコンパウンドの生産に使用される二軸押出機において，硬質フィラー添加量の増加や難燃剤の添加により部材の消耗が深刻化している．2020年に耐食・耐摩耗合金MZ01の市場リリース後，更なる耐食性向上ニーズがあることを踏まえ，合金組成の最適化により耐食性を向上させた改良材MZⅡを開発した．MZⅡはMZ01に対し，フッ酸，硫酸，塩酸では数倍，リン酸では約50倍の耐食性を誇るため，コンパウンド製造部品の寿命を更に延ばすことが可能となる．
