Nippon Tungsten developed fine ceramics since 1960s and has been a pioneer of those in Japan by adopting new technologies like HP and HIP method. The production of fine ceramics was started with alumina ceramics (white ceramics) and Al2O3-Tic (black ceramics). Nowadays it shows its development with various materials besides general oxides, such as carbides, nitrides and their compositions. In accordance with this, the applications of ceramics have ranged from cutting tools to wear & corrosion resistant components, semiconductor products and molds, so that ceramics become indispensable to the advanced machinery.
